|I co-founded Green Retirement, a California Benefit Corporation and a founding B Corp, a financial firm that specializes in fossil-free and environmentally and socially-responsible investing in 401k’s with clients all over the country. I'm a founding signatory to the Divest/Invest movement to stop the financing of the extractive fossil fuel industry.
I've been recognized by my industry. In 2015, The National Association of Plan Advisors gave me a Captain of Industry Award in its inaugural recognition of the role of women in the industry. I've have been recognized by the responsible business community: I was awarded the B Economy Leadership Award by B Corporations in 2017. For organizing and founding WeTheChange, a collective of B Corp women CEOs, I and my co-founders received the B Collective Award in 2018 and 2019. For the work that I've demonstrated as an environmentally and socially responsible business leader, I was recognized by Conscious Company Media as one of the World Changing Women of 2020. I've served on nonprofit boards, the latest of which was the American Sustainable Business Network.- We need to protect our democracy. As such, I will advocate for the repeal of Citizens United and the public financing of elections. I will also push for creative ways of curbing the influence of money on our electoral process. One such thing I would put for consideration is to limit the spending on advertising by the candidate and any political action committees to $5,000.00 for federal offices and $2,000 for state offices and down ballot races.
- Americans are hurting. Wages have not increased in relation to the cost of living. Groceries, gas, and rent have gone way up. We need to stop the profiteering of big business. I will advocate for rent stabilization, a measure aimed at eliminating private equity from the rental market. I will advocate for a living wage and the right of employees to unionize so as to offer more purchasing power to workers. I will push for a Federal Jobs Guarantee that will offer living wage jobs and a pathway to the middle class. I will advocate the use of the CPI-E index for Social Security recipients so that it reflects th higher cost of living index for the elderly. I will fight against privatization of Social Security.
- Healthcare is a human right. We need a universal single payer nonprofit system like Medicare for All.

Campaign website
Yee's campaign website stated the following:
“ |
Healthcare Freedom We all deserve the freedom to get the healthcare we need without risking bankruptcy or being forced to give up control over our own bodies. Educational Freedom We all deserve the freedom to develop our talents by seeking the education and training we need without taking on crippling student loan debt. Financial Freedom We all deserve the freedom to work at a single job that pays enough to support us, to live without anxiety over unaffordable rent, and to retire without fear of sinking into poverty if anything goes wrong. Freedom to Live in a Safe Environment We all deserve the freedom to drink tap water without hesitation, to invest in our homes without fear of raging wildfires, and to enjoy healthy forests, grasslands and waterways. Freedom to Participate in a Real Democracy We need to free ourselves from the excessive influence of corporations and the wealthy, and prioritize the welfare of all Americans above handouts for millionaires and billionaires.[2] |
