I am a dedicated nurse practitioner with over 25 years of experience in healthcare serving Volusia County. My background has given me firsthand insight into the critical issues facing our community, particularly in healthcare, education, and environmental sustainability. I am running for office to save our Democracy, preserve Women's Rights, and to ensure that our community thrives. With a focus on healthcare, environmental sustainability, education, and social equity, I am committed to representing the interests and needs of all residents in District 29. Thank you for your support, and I look forward to working together to build a better Florida.
  • I have spent my career advocating for patients and improving access to quality healthcare. My experience in the medical field drives my commitment for Medicaid expansion and ensuring that all residents are able to receive the care they need - including the right to an abortion.

Abortion rights are integral to achieving gender equality. When women have control over their reproductive choices, they are better positioned to participate equally in society, including in the workforce and in public life.

This is class warfare, plain and simple. Affluent Floridians will be able to travel for an abortion while working women will be relegated to using the same means as they did before Roe v Wade.

We must protect a woman's right to choose.
  • Let's resolve Florida's insurance crisis. I propose increasing transparency in the private market regarding available credits for homeowners and the costs of reported damage. This empowers consumers to make informed decisions and hold insurers accountable. Additionally, I support expanding SB 7028, the My Safe Florida Home bill, to be larger and an annual initiative until the private market stabilizes. This program can provide grants for home improvements, reducing risk and lowering insurance costs. By combining transparency with proactive measures, we can stabilize the market and protect Florida homeowners from escalating premiums and insufficient coverage.
  • The six most expensive words in business are: "we've always done it this way." It's time to change our approach to flooding by: 1) Investing in green infrastructure, such as permeable pavements and enhanced drainage systems, to manage stormwater effectively and reduce runoff. 2) Restoring wetlands and natural barriers to absorb excess water, mitigate flood risks, and recharge our aquifers to prevent further saltwater intrusion. And 3) implementing stricter building codes for new developments in flood-prone areas to ensure resilience. By combining these strategies, we can significantly reduce flooding and safeguard our communities.

If you want to understand my political philosophy, I highly recommend "Stillness is the Key" by Ryan Holiday. This book emphasizes the importance of stillness and reflection in making thoughtful, deliberate decisions—principles that guide my approach to public service and leadership.

Holiday draws on historical examples to show how calm and clarity can lead to effective action and wise governance. In a world filled with constant noise and chaos, embracing stillness allows for a deeper connection to core values and a clearer vision for the future. This aligns with my commitment to thoughtful, principled leadership that prioritizes the well-being of all constituents.
I possess several qualities that I believe would make me a successful officeholder. My extensive experience in healthcare as a nurse practitioner has equipped me with empathy, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of our community's needs. My commitment to integrity ensures that I will serve with honesty and transparency. Additionally, I value stillness, which allows me to make thoughtful and deliberate decisions, even under pressure. These qualities, combined with my dedication to collaboration and bipartisanship, will enable me to effectively address the needs of our community and create meaningful change.
The core responsibilities for someone elected to this office include legislating effectively, ensuring fiscal responsibility, providing constituent services, maintaining oversight, and engaging with the community.

More importantly, the person serving this position must serve with integrity and a deep love for American democracy. Unlike my opponent, who does not believe America is a democracy*, I am committed to upholding democratic values, promoting transparency, and representing all constituents fairly.

If I could be any fictional character, I would choose Atticus Finch from "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee.

Atticus embodies integrity, compassion, and moral courage. He stands up for justice and equality, defending an innocent man despite facing significant societal prejudice and personal risk.

His ability to remain calm and principled, even in the face of adversity, reflects the importance of stillness and thoughtful decision-making.

Atticus's unwavering commitment to doing what is right, combined with his empathetic nature and dedication to his community, aligns with my values and aspirations as a public servant.
Building relationships with other legislators is crucial for effective governance, particularly in a diverse and politically divided landscape. Collaboration and mutual respect among lawmakers enable the creation of more comprehensive and balanced policies that reflect the needs and values of a broader constituency. Bipartisanship plays a key role in this process, allowing for constructive dialogue and compromise, which are essential for addressing complex issues such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure.

Strong relationships with legislators from different political parties foster an environment where ideas can be exchanged freely, and innovative solutions can be developed. This spirit of cooperation helps to break down partisan barriers and encourages a focus on common goals rather than political divisions. For example, successful bipartisan efforts have historically led to significant legislative achievements, such as the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and more recent reforms in criminal justice.

Moreover, building these relationships is essential for restoring public trust in the legislative process. When elected officials work together across party lines, it demonstrates a commitment to serving the public interest above partisan politics. This approach can help mitigate the increasing polarization and gridlock that have characterized recent political climates, ensuring that governance remains responsive and effective.

Effective governance requires a return to the fundamentals of legislative work: debating, negotiating, and compromising to pass laws that benefit the community. By prioritizing relationship-building and bipartisanship, legislators can move beyond partisan deadlock and focus on crafting policies that address the pressing issues facing their constituents. This collaborative spirit is not only beneficial for passing legislation but
