Campaign themes

2016

Stein's website included the following positions:

Remove Common Core and return to the classical education model of Phonics and Mathematics instruction that made American students the best in the world when I was a child (we now rank 22 out of 23 developed countries).

Classical Education really means education for First Class citizens. Our current education model has the effect of producing second class citizens. It is equally important to engage parents in the education of their children. It has been shown that kids perform better in school if their parents are engaged in the learning process. I intend to assist parents and teachers to re-establish a strong Parent Teacher Association so that parents and teachers can again work together for the success of our children.[3][4]

Stein also identified five keys for children:

KEYS FOR OUR CHILDREN

  • Remove Common Core
  • Phonics
  • English as a Second Language (Immersion)
  • Parental Involvement
  • Classical Education
