- I am seeking your support and asking for your vote to remain your judge for a 3rd term.
In the past 7 years as your public servant and judge over this Crim Misd FV court, my team and I have
reduced the caseloads we inherited by over 70% and presided over 150 jury trials and earned national, state and local awards and recognition for the work we do to prevent the cycle of FV for generations to come through our innovative trauma-certified court, REFLEJO COURT. - We do carry the highest population at the Bexar Co Jail because when compassion FAILS, then tough on crime accountability must be exercised as a deterrent to future violence. We hold DEFs and attorneys accountable by demanding professionalism, respect for court protocols and knowledge of the law to guarantee due process for each defendant and protection for victims who may find themselves at risk of future harm at the hands of their perpetrators.
- We are committed to FAIR and IMPARTIAL justice every day to ensure equal treatment for all regardless of gender, income, race, color, religion, nationality, age, disability or education level. I do not accept financial contributions, but will happily accept your support via your vote and/or in-kind contributions. Bexar County Court at Law No. 13 is a misdemeanor criminal Family Violence court, not immigration court, not social security court, not a juvenile or child protective services court BUT AN ADULT MISDEMEANOR CRIMINAL FAMILY VIOLENCE Court that demands strong judicial leadership and unflappable temperament.

Rosie Gonzalez participated in Ballotpedia's candidate survey on May 29, 2018. The survey questions appear in bold, and Rosie Gonzalez's responses follow below.[4]
What would be your top three priorities, if elected?
| “ | 1. Creation of a Domestic Violence Drug Court
2. Ensuring that community safety, perpetrator rehabilitation and perpetrator accountability are goals that are achieved as a result of court intervention and services provided to victims and perpetrators.
|
” |
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?
| “ | Health and Public Wellness via education, service provision to diminish the re-victimization of women and children in Domestic Violence cases in a way that eliminates disparities in accessibility and protection.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[6]
|
” |
Ballotpedia also asked the candidate a series of optional questions. Rosie Gonzalez answered the following:
Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow and why?
| “ | I want to set the example. I hope to do this by confronting the issues already discussed herein which I do not believe are being pursued by the present office holder. Domestic Violence Drug Court is a must in a community that is seeing record numbers of DV cases and Drug cases.[6] | ” |
| “ | No.[6] | ” |
| “ | Commitment to justice for all.
Desire to serve all equally.[6] |
” |
| “ | I am a fervent protector of a person's and child's right to zealous representation. I also believe that lifetime prosecutors who are elected as judges who cannot abandon their prosecutorial mentality do a great disservice to the communities they are elected in. I come to the bench with a wealth of diverse history of working for the betterment of children and families in Bexar County which I believe will better serve our local population.[6] | ” |
| “ | The establishment of a Domestic Violence Drug Court that can show if you treat the core problem, drug use which fuels the violence, we will see a decrease in Domestic Violence cases. When we have a sober defendant, we have a sober son, daughter, spouse, parent which creates a healthy family and safer community.[6] | ” |
| “ | July 1969 Apollo 11. I, along with 20+ other children at my daycare, watched the landing of the man on the moon on television.[6] | ” |
| “ | File clerk, Edelsteins Better Furniture. Summer 1980.[6] | ” |
| “ | Sonia Sotomayor, USSC Justice.[6] | ” |
