Rossana Rosado
Rossana Rosado (Democratic Party) was the New York Secretary of State. Rosado assumed office in 2016. Rosado left office in 2021.
Rosado was nominated secretary of state by Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) on February 3, 2016, and was confirmed by the New York State Senate on June 16, 2016. She replaced Secretary Cesar Perales, who chose to retire.[1][2] Rosado left office in November 2021 after being appointed commissioner of the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services.[3]
Biography
Rosado is the former editor and publisher of El Diario-La Prensa, the nation's oldest Spanish-language newspaper. She left in 2013 after having worked there in multiple roles over almost 20 years. Rosado later became a lecturer at John Jay College and simultaneously chaired the governor's task force to help felons reenter into society. She was also a board member for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.[1][2]
