Roszel Thomsen
Roszel Cathcart Thomsen (1900-1992) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.[1]
Thomsen was nominated by President Dwight Eisenhower on March 15, 1954, to a seat vacated by William Calvin Chesnut; he was confirmed by the Senate on May 11, 1954, and received his commission on May 12th. He served as chief judge from 1955-1970. He assumed senior status on January 31, 1971, and served in that capacity until his death on March 11, 1992.[1] Thomsen was succeeded in this position by Herbert Murray.
