Rowena Somerville

Rowena Somerville is a judge of the O'ahu First Circuit of Hawaii. She was appointed by Democratic Gov. David Ige in November 2017.[1]
Education
Somerville earned a J.D. from the University of Hawaii William S. Richardson School of Law.[1]
Career
Somerville worked as an attorney for 20 years. At the time of her appointment, she was an administrative hearings officer at the state Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs. She previously worked as a deputy attorney general in the department's Land and Transportation Division and as a deputy prosecuting attorney for the City and County of Honolulu. She was a law clerk to the Hawaii Civil Rights Commission and also did a clerkship at the District Court for the First Circuit.[1]
