Roy C. Barnes
Roy Barnes was a Republican candidate in the September 20 special election for the Georgia House of Representatives, District 43. The special election was called to fill the vacancy created when Bobby Franklin (R) passed away in late-July 2011.[1]

The September 20 special election for State House District 43 took place in a portion of Cobb County. The election was a nonpartisan special election with an open primary. Party affiliation was listed, but all candidates appeared on the same ballot. Since no candidate received a majority of the vote, a runoff between the top two vote-getters will be held on October 18, 2011.[2]
