Roy Herron
Roy Herron is a former Democratic member of the Tennessee State Senate. He served in the Tennessee Senate from 1997-2012, and also served in the Tennessee House of Representatives from 1986 to 1996.
Herron graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1975 and earned his Juris Doctor and Master's of Divinity degrees from Vanderbilt in 1980. Herron was also a Rotary Scholar at the University of Saint Andrews (Scotland) from 1975 to 1976. He is an attorney and a former minister in the United Methodist Church.
In early 2012, Herron announced he would not be seeking re-election to the Tennessee State Senate.[1]

Herron announced in early 2012 that he would not seek re-election to the Tennessee State Senate. His district was drawn to be more Republican during the redistricting process.[1][2]
2008
On Nov. 4, 2008, Herron won re-election to the 24th District Seat in the Tennessee State Senate.[3]
Herron raised $396,966 for his campaign.[4]
