I know what it’s like to serve a community and to fight for something. I’m a public school teacher, an Iraq War Veteran, and a lifelong Arkansan. I’m running for State Representative because I see a bright future for Alexander, Bryant, and Shannon Hills and I am going to fight to uplift all of our families.

I grew up in Warren, Arkansas in Bradley County. Living in South Arkansas, it wasn’t always easy for me and my family. The communities I knew when I was kid were the victims of rural neglect. Although we had great people, it seemed like leaders in Little Rock and Washington were willing to leave us behind. It was these experiences that sparked in me that passion for service and education.

Straight out of High School, I joined the Arkansas National Guard. While in the Guard, I was able to complete my college education. I’m a proud graduate of the University of Arkansas at Monticello. When I graduated College, I was deployed to Iraq. While deployed, I earned my Combat Medic Badge treating service members who came under rocket attack on forward observation base Camp Cooke in Taji, Iraq.

For over a decade, I’ve taught in public school classrooms around the state, helping my kids discover their voices through writing, photography, and acting. I currently teach Photography and Journalism. Having learned and worked in public schools my whole life, I know what our public education system needs, and I’m determined to make the essential changes happen.
  • I am running to ensure we have safe schools in Arkansas, enough money to pay educators a living and sustainable wage, and to help increase accessibility of all student to high quality instruction.
  • Our military veterans deserve to have services that are easily accessible in every community across the state to include rural areas. Ensuring that our veterans are taken care of is one of my highest priorities.
  • Health care is fundamental to creating a vibrant workforce. Making healthcare more accessible in rural communities is of the utmost importance in Arkansas.
School Safety- school districts must have the right to set rules and protocols to keep the school ecosystem safe.

Gun Control- I support gun laws that require extensive back ground checks and a ban/ restrictions on who can purchase assault styled weapon systems.

Health Care- I believe healthcare is a fundamental right of all humans.

Living Wage- I believe that humans should be compensated a living wage. I understand that we have a minimum wage but in most cases it does not cover the cost of living. A living wage does just that ensures that humans can live.

School Choice, Charter schools, and Vouchers- I do not support charter schools, voucher programs or any other program that takes public money and puts it into the hands of the private sector. Public schools are the great equalizer and if we fund them correctly I believe that we will have a much better educated society.
