Royal School District Renovation Bond Proposition (February 2013)
A Royal School District Renovation Bond proposition was narrowly defeated on the February 12, 2013 election ballot in Grant County, which is in Washington.
This proposition would have authorized the Royal School District to increase its debt by $8.75 million by issuing general obligation bonds in that amount. This money would have been used to construct, equip and furnish and addition to the POD Building for third through sixth grades and expand and renovate Royal High School. The bonds would have matured within 15 years.[1]
A 60% super-majority was required for approval.

| “ | The Board of Directors of Royal School District No. 160 adopted Resolution No. 521, concerning a proposition to relieve overcrowding and improve student safety. This proposition would authorize the District to construct, equip and furnish an addition to the existing POD Building for Grades 3-6 and expand and renovate Royal High School; issue no more than $8,750,000 of general obligation bonds maturing within 15 years with all proceeds to benefit local students by paying costs of such capital improvements; and levy annual excess property taxes to repay the bonds, all as provided in Resolution No. 521.[1][2] | ” |
