Ruben Franco was a judge of the New York Supreme Court 12th Judicial District. He assumed office in 2016.

Biography

Education

Franco received his B.A. from Northern Michigan University in 1970 and his J.D. from Howard University in 1974.[1]

Career

Prior to his judicial election, Franco worked as chairman of the New York City Housing Authority, president and general counsel of the Puerto Rican Legal Defense and Education Fund, staff attorney of the Legal Aid Society, Criminal Defense Division, managing attorney of Bronx Legal Services, and a solo practitioner. He served as a judge of the New York City Civil Court and the New York City Criminal Court in Bronx County. He was elected to the civil court in 2010 and appointed to the criminal court the following year. [1]
