In his bid for re-election to Area 1, incumbent Ray Seibert defeated challenger Luis Carrillo. Newcomer Ruben Mendoza ran unopposed and won election the open Area 3 seat by default. Area 6 incumbent Ricardo Arredondo also won re-election, defeating former school board member Lynn Cogdill.[1][2]
