Recall reports

An effort to recall Rudy Patterson from his position as member of the Saginaw Public School District board of education was launched on October 13, 2014, when Thalia Cooper filed the petition.[1] However, the language of the petition was found to be not factual enough by the Saginaw County Election Commission on October 30, 2014. Cooper stated her intent to continue the recall effort.[2]

Recall supporter arguments

The recall petition filed by Thalia Cooper listed the following reasons for his recall:

(1.) Mr. Patterson has consistently voted against administration recommendations on nearly every substantive financial issue to come before the Board. (2.) Mr. Patterson has failed to offer any alternatives to the recommendations he has voted against. He is not acting in the best interest of the district or students.[3][4]

Coopers submitted petition language on October 13, 2014. This language was rejected by the Saginaw County Election Commission on October 30, 2014, during the clarity hearing for the petition. If a recall is to move forward, a new petition must be submitted.
