My name is Rudy Settimi I am a 42yr old man and a 14yr resident of Stamford and district 147.

At the moment of consciousness, we begin making decisions. We decide to look left or right, we decide to yell or remain silent. We continue to make these decisions throughout life, and as we age, they become more important and more impactful to ourselves and others.

I have made a decision. I have seen a desperate need in our Country, and more specifically in my very community of Stamford, that requires more than just passive support. As my wife Lauren and I raise our wonderful daughter Addison here in Stamford I have decided to take an active role in the betterment of this Community. I intend to serve as the next Congressman for District 147, Stamford Connecticut. I will bring with me a degree in Economics and Business, a wealth of experience in Accounting and Business Management and a sincere desire to see Stamford flourish for my Family and Community.

Stamford Connecticut is perhaps a microcosm of a systemic problem plaguing our Government. Politicians born, raised and groomed to serve in office as a career. The first Republican President, Abraham Lincoln, lauded a government “of the people, by the people” in a Nation blessed and watched over by a higher power, God. That is not the sentiment in the 147th district of Stamford. The 147th district is not simply represented by a career politician but a by-product of bureaucracy woven by the very fabric of big government. He is
  • ECONOMY – Stamford residents deserve value for their tax dollars. As Congressman I will scrutinize how our Government is spending money and be a watchdog for wasteful and unnecessary spending. With my background in Economics and Business it is both a top priority and an area I bring applied life experience too.
  • SAFETY – There is no acceptable level of Crime in Stamford! I will thoroughly support law enforcement in their pursuit of our Safety. I will work with the Community to develop preventative and lasting strategies to prevent crime and keep Stamford safe
  • EDUCATION – Parents should not have to worry that their children are not being provided a foundation for success in our public school system. We most focus on ensuring our children have a safe environment conducive to learning. We must ensure the teachers have the tools they need and the children reap the benefits.
Our School system is where are children go to get a quality education so they can achieve a bright future. But that's not the case in Stamford. Our schools rank poorly in the state and we have a problem with voidance in our schools. The school board is focused on the wrong things like trying to remove Veteran's day as an official holiday. We need an immediate coarse correction so our children get the education they deserve.
A wise coworker of mine who's given me insight and wisdom into life I never knew about.
An elected official should have honesty and integrity woven through the fiber of their very being. Truth telling is something our officials need to do always so they have the trust if the public.
I am a Husband and more importantly a Father and because of that I'm driven to help my district.
Elected officials work for the people period. If you get into politics to enrich yourself or to gain power then you don't belong in politics. The people put you in office to help them and to make their lives better and more prosperous.
That I gave it my all everyday for the people I serve and I made their lives better.
I was on my way to my second class of the day at IONA College when 9/11 occurred. I will never forget that s long as I live.
I worked in the office of a construction company for over 4yrs.
I don't have a favorite book.
Finding the courage to speak out and not be one of the crowd.
They need to work together to make sure everyday they are doing the people's work. And also to not spend their time fighting each other.
The major parties in this country have to learn to work together for the betterment of the people. We currently are to divided.
No I don't because career politicians can stray from their path and begin to believe they don't need to serve the people anymore. Fresh ideas are required to move us in a new direction of cooperation.
working together leads to progress and makes the world a better place. Fighting and name calling leads to nothing being accomplished and suffering of the populace.
No, I can't be someone else. I have to be me and do the best I can daily to help the district that elects me.
A school in Stamford suffered greatly all year from unruly students who physically assaulted fellow students and teachers. The school didn't act quickly enough to stop this and the children suffered.
No, this leads to elected officials having powers the populace didn't grant them.
Making a law that Veteran's day through out the state is a school holiday in every municipality and can never be removed again.
The public has a right to know how their tax dollars are spent. The government has a responsibility to make sure the public is aware of how their money is being spent.
