Wright ran for North Carolina Auditor in 2012.[1] He lost against Joseph Hank DeBragga, Greg Dority, Debra Goldman and Fern Shubert in the Republican primary on May 8.[2] Incumbent Beth Wood was unopposed in the Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.
