Senate Committees


The Rules & Resolutions Committee was a standing committee of the Texas House of Representatives.

Function

The 2013 Texas House rules described the functions of the committee as outlined below.

The committee shall have 11 members, with jurisdiction over:
  • Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives, and all proposed amendments;
  • Joint Rules of the House and Senate, and all proposed amendments;
  • all procedures for expediting the business of the house in an orderly and efficient manner;
  • all resolutions to congratulate, memorialize, or name mascots of the house; and
  • other matters concerning rules, procedures, and operation of the house assigned by the speaker.[1][2]
