Campaign themes

2014

Grunch addressed the following issues in a statement to Ballotpedia on July 4, 2014:[1] Pedestrian safety

  • "The #1 complaint of my neighbors is dangerous local roads due to speeding. 4 pedestrians have been killed within one mile of my home. City of Honolulu officials have not responded to any of our requests for simple measures (such as speed bumps) to make our streets safer."

Newtown/Royal Summit Zip Line

  • "1500 area residents signed a petition against this. Although myself and the Aiea Neighborhood board voted against it, the developer is continuing with gaining approval. Approval would greatly harm a peaceful and quiet neighborhood. I will work to protect this land from development."

Kam Drive-In Condo Project

  • "[This project] is deficient in encouraging pedestrian traffic. The project will not encourage walking or biking which will worsen an already bad traffic situation. My neighbors and I have some great ideas we want to pursue such as over-the-street pedestrian bridges."

Traffic

  • "For the next four years, multiple construction projects will cause havoc for drivers in our area (Rail, Kam Highway Sewage Pipe Replacement, Kam Drive-In Condo Project, H1 Improvements). I will work to deconflict work schedules."
