Campaign themes

2016

The following issues were listed on Ramsland's campaign website. For a full list of campaign themes, click here.

  • Immigration, Border Security and Refugee Resettlement: It is long past time for ACTION on illegal immigration. My proposals are clear and straightforward.
  • Healthcare – ObamaCare, Medicare and the Continuing VA Scandals: ObamaCare will never work—period. Our VA system is a disgrace. Our heroes deserve so much better. Millions of seniors rely on Medicare, but Congress raids its funding for other programs. Experience teaches that a free and competitive marketplace provides the highest levels of goods and services at the least cost.
  • Education: Education has traditionally been in—and should return to—the hands of families and local schools. The Federal Government’s ever-expanding involvement in education has only burdened schools and teachers, with no benefits.
  • Term Limits and Integrity: An entrenched political class of lifetime career politicians was not what our Founders had in mind. Experience has taught us that we need term limits.
  • Constitutional Rights: In the Declaration of Independence, Jefferson, echoing Locke, identified LIFE as the first right endowed by our Creator. The abhorrent behavior of Planned Parenthood has been known for some time, but the recent undercover videos released by the Center for Medical Progress further exposed the depths of their depravity. It is long since time to completely defund Planned Parenthood.
