Former Justice Russell A. Anderson


Russell A. Anderson was a chief justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court. He retired on June 1, 2008. Anderson died in September 2020.

Education

Anderson received his B. A. from St. Olaf College and graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1968.

Career

Prior to joining the Minnesota Supreme Court as an associate justice in 1998, Anderson served on the Ninth Judicial District bench from 1982 to 1998 and was the Beltrami County attorney from 1978 to 1982. He became the 20th chief justice in 2006.[1]
