Russ Jennings
Russ Jennings (Republican Party) was a member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing District 122. He assumed office on January 14, 2013. He left office on October 27, 2021.
Jennings (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the Kansas House of Representatives to represent District 122. He won in the general election on November 3, 2020.
Jennings died on October 27, 2021, from cancer.[1]
Biography
Jennings was born and lived in Lakin, Kansas. He attended Garden City Community College, the University of Nevada at Reno, and graduated from Kansas' Law Enforcement Training Center. He earned a bachelor's degree in human resource management and criminal justice at Friends University. Jennings' professional experience included serving as director of the Finney County Southwest Regional Juvenile Justice Authority and director of Governor Mark Parkinson's cabinet transition before working as a government contractor. Jennings served as a member of Washburn University's Criminal Justice Advisory Board and the Kansas Sex Offender Policy Board, as well as chair of the Kansas Substance Abuse Policy Board.
Jennings was elected to the Kansas state House of Representatives in 2012. In the 2019 legislative session, he served as chair of the Corrections and Juvenile Justice Committee and as a member of the Judiciary Committee and the Rural Revitalization Committee.[2]
