Russell Mock was a judge of the Ohio First District Court of Appeals. He assumed office on February 8, 2014. He left office on February 8, 2021.

Mock (Nonpartisan, Republican Party) ran for re-election for judge of the Ohio First District Court of Appeals. Mock lost in the general election on November 3, 2020. He advanced from the Republican primary on April 28, 2020.

Education

Mock received his undergraduate degree from the University of Dayton and his J.D. from the Ohio Northern University College of Law.[1][2]

Career

Mock served as the presiding judge for the Hamilton County Municipal Court prior to his election to the Ohio First District Court of Appeals in 2014.[3] He was appointed to the municipal court by former Governor Bob Taft (R) in June 2004 and assumed office on July 6, 2004.[4][1] Mock also previously served as an assistant prosecuting attorney for the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office and worked as an attorney in private practice, specializing in family, probate, commercial, and criminal defense law.[1]

General: He defeated Fanon Rucker in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 58.5 percent of the vote. [5] 

2011

Mock was re-elected to the Hamilton County Municipal Court. He defeated Martha Good in the general election on November 8, 2011, winning 62.4 percent of the vote.[6]
