I'm from out in the hills in Hubbardsville, NY. I'm the Libertarian candidate for the 53rd Senate district in Upstate NY (Madison County and parts of Oneida and Onondaga). I teach math at a Community College, and I believe in alternative candidates, and local control, and individual freedom.
  • Freedom and Liberty for citizens - major parties aren't standing for this.
  • Support for Alternative Candidates - vote for change!
  • You and your community know what's best for yourselves, not Albany or Washington.
Less Government control in our lives. Education should be run by local school boards and educators and parents. Health Care should be run by health care providers. Business should be run by their owners without onerous regulatory burdens.
Primary role model for me is Jesus Christ; who gave himself in so many ways for others.
Understand that the people your laws apply to are free citizens; and should be allowed to run their own lives without your manipulation or intimidation.
Break the status quo that is destroying our communities and state.
In grade school I remember the Shuttle disaster, when the stopped regular school and turned on a TV for a while.
Right out of High School I worked at Pizza Hut and Ames Department store. Working for a year before college worked out well for me.
The Bible, since there's always more to learn there. For fiction, I like the Wingfeather Saga by Andrew Peterson.
Maybe beneficial for the legislators, but not for the people represented. Seems to me that the established office-holders play for their party team, and leave behind ideals or the interests of citizens.
We're taxing and regulating all of the industry out of the state, and our best people with it. If this trend isn't reversed, there's no funds for bureaucrats and welfare state left behind.
Ideally the state legislator and governor stay within constitutional boundaries. Legislature should represent the interests of their district citizens, and the governor should not push policy, but just see that the laws (particularly the constitution) are executed properly.
Education committee, since that's the area of my experience as a college and homeschool educator.
No interest at this point. I want to be a voice for freedom and liberty, but probably not within public office.
