Russell Stilwell (b. March 3, 1948) was a Democratic member of the Indiana House of Representatives, representing the 74th District from 1996-2010. He was the Majority Floor Leader and Democratic Campaign Chair.

Stilwell works as Political Field Director for the United Mine Workers Association from 1981-2005, was a Corporal in the United States Army Infantry from 1968-1969, and was a coal miner.

He is a Board Member of the AFL-CIO Indiana, American Legion, Elks, Farm Bureau, Moose, Red Cross Board, Veterans of Foreign Wars, United Mine Workers of America, and the Methodist Church.[1]

Stilwell his re-election bid to Republican candidate Sue Ellspermann by a margin of 11,242 to 10,362.[2] The general election took place on November 2, 2010.

In the May 4th primary, Stilwell ran unopposed and received 5,677 votes.[3]

2008

On November 4, 2008, Democrat Russell Stilwell won re-election to the Indiana House of Representatives District 74 receiving 17,542 votes, ahead of Republican William Eugene Marcrum who received 10,126 votes.[4]
