Russell Suzuki was the attorney general of Hawaii from 2018 to 2019. He was appointed by Gov. David Ige on March 15, 2018, to replace Doug Chin, who resigned to run for the U.S. House.[1][2]

Suzuki previously served as attorney general from December 2014 until March 2015, when David M. Louie's (D) term in the office expired and Gov. Ige declined to re-nominate him. As the deputy attorney general, Suzuki filled the role until Ige nominated Chin as his successor.[3][4]

A graduate of Leilehua High School, Suzuki earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Hawaii and his law degree from the Ohio State University Law School.[5]

Suzuki became the interim Hawaii Attorney General when Gov. David Ige (D) did not reappoint David M. Louie on December 1, 2014.[3]
