Moore is a retired teacher. She started her career in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma before moving to California to work in the Manteca Unified School District. She worked at Manteca Unified for 28 years, including nine years as a special education teacher. In addition to serving on the Manteca Unified Board of Trustees, Moore is a founding board member of Give Every Child A Chance and Tutor. She is also a member of the San Joaquin County Children's Commission to prevent child abuse, a board member of the Manteca Historical Society and a representative to the Delegate Assembly of the California School Boards Association. Moore earned her bachelor's degree in modern history from Bryn Mawr College. She and her husband have three children.[1][2][3][4]

Four seats on the Manteca Unified School District Board of Trustees were up for general election on November 4, 2014. The Trustee Area 2 race featured incumbent Manuel Medeiros and challenger Ashley Drain. Drain defeated Medeiros and won the seat. Trustee Area 4 incumbent Nancy Teicheira and Trustee Area 5 incumbent Ruth Evelyn Moore ran unopposed and won re-election by default. In Trustee Area 6, incumbent Donald L. Scholl was defeated by challenger Alexander Bronson.

Results

This election did not appear on the ballot due to lack of opposition. Incumbent Ruth Evelyn Moore won re-election to Trustee Area 5 by default.[3]
