My husband and I have lived in Canterbury for 47 years, in the house we built ourselves and where we raised two sons. I have worked in the private sector, the public sector, and the nonprofit sector, including employment as an IT professional and as a math teacher at the middle, high school, and community college levels. As an Assistant Professor of Math at NHTI, I led the math and physical science tutoring program for 16 years.

I have been involved in service to my community, my workplace, and my church my whole adult life. In recent years, I have chaired the Canterbury Energy Committee, chaired the board of the Sycamore Community Garden, served as treasurer for the Concord Chorale and also NH Interfaith Power and Light, which helps religious congregations reduce their energy bills and their carbon footprints. I led the successful Solarize Canterbury campaign, which resulted in 43 new solar installations. Currently I'm the local organizer for our WindowDressers Merrimack Valley community build. At NHTI, I have advised the Environmental Action Club since 2001, chaired the Technology Committee, served as president of the Faculty/Staff Forum, and led the campus choir.

In the 44 years I’ve been a member of my church, I’ve served on almost every committee, taught Sunday School, served as treasurer, and have been involved with governance at the New England level.
  • I will bring my values of integrity, respect for all, frugality, equality, and collaboration to the State House.
  • I carry a deep concern for the environment and the need to mitigate the changing climate by moving to a clean energy future that would protect our health, our environment, and strengthen the state's economy by creating high paying local jobs.
  • I will stand for all workers and working families struggling to find affordable housing, affordable childcare, and hoping for property tax relief and a strong and fair public education funding system.
Energy, education, environment, women's reproductive freedom.
I greatly admire those who commit their lives to service to others and who bring positive change to their world: Gandhi is a personal hero.
Listen to other's points of view, willingness to research and think critically, desire to find root causes to problems.
I'm patient and listen well; I try to find harmony and unity through looking for the best in others and collaborating with them; I attempt to create connection and community between everyone. I'm intelligent and willing to work hard to research and understand issues. I was trained as a scientist and have a logical, curious mind and I think critically and independently.
Careful thought about the ramifications of the laws being passed on residents.
A state where people care about each other and for each other and for the Earth.
The assassination of President Kennedy in 1963. I was in 8th grade History class when his death was announced.
As a teenager I taught roller skating on Saturday mornings in exchange for skating free the rest of the week. My first job with a paycheck was two summers during college where I worked 3rd shift as a waitress at a truck stop on I-90 in Pennsylvania.
Moving toward a clean energy future. Ensuring a strong public education system that is fair to both taxpayers and students.
I believe we need to work together to find creative solutions. Without relationships across the aisle, we will not be able to move forward for the common good.
I am saddened to hear of residents unable to remain in the homes because of high taxes. For example, I remember canvassing one home where the retired couple were searching the internet for homes in Kentucky where they were prepared to move to be able to afford a home. I have encountered young adult families living with their parents because they can't afford their own home or apartment because of the dire lack of affordable housing in our state.
