Summers owns and operates a consignment shop. She formerly worked as an Account Executive and Marketing Manager in a number of locations.[1]

Summers ran in the 2012 election for Maine State Senate District 6. She ran unopposed in the Republican primary on June 12, 2012 and was defeated by James Boyle (D) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[2]
