I believe in open, transparent communication between the community and city hall. I also believe in thoughtful growth to conserve our natural resources and ensure our zoning aliens with the wishes of the community and is scalable for years to come.
  • Bilateral communication is key to accomplishing our goals for the future especially in regard to the revitalization of the oldest part of our city. I am dedicated to helping improve the communication between all residents of District 2 and the City of Buckeye
  • Water is a big issue for our desert communities. I would like to offer my extensive knowledge of green building techniques to help ensure developers are meeting our needs to conserve the water we have and improve our infrastructure to recapture any water we can in the future.
  • The city needs to work towards bringing higher paying wages to our area rather than settling for general labor warehouse employment opportunities. More than 88% of Buckeye residents commute outside of our city limits to access employment that will afford their cost of living needs. We need to change that by improving our education system, supporting the trades and actively seeking partners who can bring the types of jobs that will afford the homes currently being constructed.
I am particularly passionate about supporting our small businesses anyway we can. Small business is the backbone of a community especially in historic areas in need of revitalization. I would like to help the city refocus on small business support rather than looking towards large business as the sole solution to our employment issues.
Local governance is enacted by those living and working in our community. The decisions made at the local level can influence State funding to our city for years to come. Zoning policies today could impact our community for generations in a positive or negative way depending on who represents our interests.
There are many traits I admire in various people to pick just one person to admire. Humans have good and bad and I'm not one to follow any one persons example completely.
Honesty, communication and accessibility are the most important traits I require in my elected officials.
I have been my own boss for a long time which allows me to be flexible with my time for the most part. I also have learned the importance of communication in fostering good relationships.
I believe the most important role of an elected official is active listening and open dialogue with their constituents.
I would like to help mend the divide between the public and the city through communication.
My very first "job" was making first aid kits and selling them door to door in an effort to earn money for a trip back East to attend the Scouts National Jamboree. I have been self employed for 23 years.
Buckeyes is a council lead city meaning it is the will of the council not the Mayor to enact laws directly affecting our community. Council in Buckeye consists of 6 members and the majority vote wins.
I don't think previous experience is particularly beneficial because after so long people tend to loose sight of their core values. Knowledge of the process is beneficial to ease the learning curve and hit the ground running.
I believe being approachable, willing to listen despite criticism and having knowledge of the challenges within the community is paramount to working towards progress for future generations.

Financial transparency is fundamental to holding governments accountable and ensuring tax dollars are being allocated in the most responsible way possible. I believe all financials should also be presented with data to support the expense not simply a pie chart without explanation.
