I am Ryan Blevins, a Robotics Engineer from Oakdale, California. Technology has always been very interesting to me. Naturally I have become an expert in many technical areas, including the automation that is threatening workers and the economy. I have very little political experience, but I think my experience in technology makes up for it. I believe that we need a government that understands technology, and I want to help.
I am most passionate about Universal Basic Income. We have many problems that have the same root cause, money, in the past our solution was to create multiple welfare programs where we would use taxes to help improve 1 aspect of people's lives; for example food stamps. But, food stamps can't be used to pay for rent, college, or clothing.

UBI will expand the flexibility of our current welfare far beyond its current limits and will improve the lives of millions of American's around the country. Including those displaced by technology.

I am also passionate about: Ending the Wars, Medicare for all, expanding public education, and acting on climate change.
For politics: Bernie Sanders and Andrew Yang. Bernie is a true expert and voice of the people. If elected I will definitely ask Bernie for advice on how to get started.
I form my own opinions through my own experiences. I'm not sure if I could recommend anything specifically. Star Wars has had a big influence on me, but I'm not sure about the political philosophy part.
A good moral compass like Captain America or Obi Wan Kenobi come to mind. Honesty, integrity, without corruption.
My expertise in technology; something our current government is seriously lacking in,
Represent the people that elected you, it's literally in the name.
I am not thinking of my legacy.
For my 3rd birthday, I got a bike as a present 🚲. I also faintly remember listing every NASCAR driver and car number from about the same time on multiple occasions.
Software Engineer/3D Animation - I had it for about 7 months.

You may have seen my work before on YouTube.
1984 is something that comes to mind often, big brother.
This happens very frequently as I play guitar sometimes. I had the drum beat of "You Could be Mine" stuck in my head for so many years that I forgot that it wasn't my song.
When I was going to college in 2014-2015, I wasn't working; so I was unable to accomplish many things that I wanted to do due to a shortage in funding. UBI would've made accomplishing my goals possible.

I actually discovered the idea of UBI at this time.
Congress has the power to end our wars, address climate change, and help citizens that have been displaced by machines.
Yes, I don't have any previous experience and would make campaigning easier for me if I did.
It seems relatively short, maybe 4 years would be better.
We should set term limits of 12 or 18 years.
I have no idea what the different roles are, because I am not a politician and have no previous political experience.
Ro Khanna and Tulsi Gabbard are doing a great job right now in the house.

The fictional character of Bail Organa is awesome too.
I heard a story from a family of 3. Both parents were working 40 hours a week and were struggling to support themselves, and they were both paid wages more than 15/hr and they both wished that they could spend more time with their child. They supported UBI.

Campaign website

Blevins' campaign website stated the following:

“

FREEDOM DIVIDEND

Alaska has set up the Alaska Permanent Fund, which is a form of Universal Basic Income. Every year the oil is taxed and redistributed to the people in the form of a $2000 check. The freedom dividend will tax data, technology and luxury items to give everyone $1000 a month. This policy is estimated to grow the GDP by about 12%.

MODERNIZE OUR EDUCATION

When young adults graduate high school they are not prepared to enter the workforce. We need to implement a K-14 schooling system that includes courses on technical skills and engineering to provide a smoother transition into the workforce.

END THE WARS

The United States is currently at war in 8 different countries. Costing 507,000 lives (mostly innocent civilians) and 6 trillion dollars ($6,000,000,000,000) since 2001. The only thing these wars have accomplished in these past 18 years is making our enemies stronger.

MEDICARE FOR ALL

The United States is the only modern country that doesn’t guarantee healthcare to its citizens. Have you ever rationed medication or delayed an appointment because you couldn’t afford it? For citizens in Canada, Australia, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and many others; that is unthinkable.

CLIMATE CRISIS

Stanislaus County receives a billion dollars of revenue per year from agriculture of almonds. Our scientists are saying that our crop yields are expected to drop by 40% within the next 3 decades. This is unacceptable, but it’s not too late. We can prevent or slow down a climate crisis by investing in advanced technologies.[2]
