2017
A special election for the position of New Hampshire House of Representatives District Hillsborough 44 was called for May 23, 2017. A primary election was held on April 4, 2017. The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 10, 2017.[2]
The seat became vacant after the death of Representative Andre Martel (R).[3]
James R. Morin defeated Ryan Curran in the special Democratic primary. Mark McLean defeated George Lambert in the special Republican primary.[4][5] McLean defeated Morin in the special election.[6]

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 13, 2014. Incumbent Thomas Katsiantonis and Ryan Curran were unopposed in the Democratic primary, while incumbent Steve Vaillancourt and Mark McLean were unopposed in the Republican primary. Katsiantonis, Curran, Vaillancourt and McLean faced off in the general election.[11] Incumbent Katsiantonis and Republican challenger McLean defeated Curran and incumbent Vaillancourt in the general election.[12]
