Ryan Graham lives in Atlanta, GA with his wife and child. He earned a bachelor's degree in computer science from Georgia State University in 2010 and currently works as an IT Project Manager. He is also currently the Chair of the Libertarian Party of Georgia.
  • Educational Freedom - Education should be between students, parents, and educators; not politicians and bureaucrats. I'd like to end mandated curriculums and allow educators to innovate their methods. I'd like to provide students and parents more education choices.
  • Criminal Justice - People agree that our criminal justice system is flawed, but can't seem to ever do anything about it. Ending civil asset forfeiture and sovereign immunity are my top priorities in this realm.
  • Healthcare Freedom - Bodily autonomy and consent are key principles our government should respect. Healthcare can't be mandated. The government also needs to get out of the way of establishing new healthcare providers in an area by getting rid of our Certificate of Need law.
The underlying principle that drives every public policy change I'd like to see are consent, consent for individuals to live their lives as long as they aren't committing violence or fraud against others. This will lead to innovation in stagnant industries like education and healthcare, and lead to more productive members of society by not criminalizing peaceful activity.
Libertarians practice the non aggression principle. That is, force is only ever moral in self defense. Most of what the government does goes directly against the non aggression principle by victimizing peaceful people for behaving in ways that politicians would rather they didn't. It's not up to politicians. It's important for elected officials to be able to let their own preferences go when creating or executing law and look to see if there is force or fraud in the situation. If not, leave it alone.
I would like to leave office knowing that I have reduced the size and scope of government and stopped creating victims of government overreach. People should be free to make their own decisions, including mistakes, so long as they aren't committing force or fraud against another. Markets should be open and free. Peaceful people should be free.
I worked at Rich's at North Point Mall in Alpharetta. While I was there, it changed to Macy's. I worked for Macy's for 7 years at various locations until I graduated college and started working in Information Technology.
