Ryan J. Stuart is a judge of the Colorado 18th Judicial District. He assumed office in 2019. His current term ends on January 12, 2029.

Stuart ran for re-election for judge of the Colorado 18th Judicial District. He won in the retention election on November 8, 2022.

He was appointed to the court on December 17, 2018, by then-Governor John Hickenlooper (D) to replace Phillip Douglass.

Education

Stuart received a bachelor's degree from Stanford University, a master's in education from Harvard University, and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.[1]

Career

Prior to becoming a district court judge, Stuart was the Division A judge for the Jefferson County Court upon his 2012 appointment. Before that, Stuart was a district court magistrate for the 1st Judicial District. He has also served as a deputy district attorney in the same district, and an associate at Davis Graham & Stubbs and Brownstein Hyatt & Farber.[1]
