- My philosophy is that people tend to support their public schools the more they know about them. That's especially true in places like Evansville, where we have a strong admin team and great teachers. Parents and other community members need to know what the District is doing—and especially how referendum funds are being used—so that their support stays strong.
- We need to attract and retain strong teachers so that we have generational strength, with veteran teachers raising a new crop of high-quality teachers. Conversely, if we fail to support teachers we can fall into a cycle of hiring inexperienced teachers and giving them unappealing positions where they have too much responsibility and little guidance.
- I'm a huge supporter of the arts and extra-curricular activities generally. Public schools need to be a place where ALL students feel included and are able to thrive. This is only possible with diverse opportunities for kids beyond academics.
