Ryan Matthews
Ryan E. Matthews is a former interim secretary of environmental protection for the state of Florida. He served in this position from February 4, 2017, to May 23, 2017. He was appointed to the position by Republican Gov. Rick Scott (R) to succeed Jonathan Steverson, who resigned effective February 3, 2017, to take a position in the private sector. He was succeeded by Noah Valenstein.[1][2]
Biography
Matthews previously worked as a lobbyist and general counsel for the Florida League of Cities. He joined the Florida Department of Environmental Protection in 2015 and worked as the water policy director and, later, as the deputy secretary of regulatory programs.[1][3]
