McAdams received his master of divinity from the Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. He began working as a pastor and a social worker in 1997. He served as a youth and family services coordinator for the City of Williamsburg from 2010 to 2012. McAdams has been associated with the Agape Mission Church.[2]
