What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

Education Reform Tax Reform Ending use of Traffic Cameras

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I am most passionate about education reform Ohio's education system is broken!! Republicans took office with a promise to decrease government overreach in the Ohio education system, and yet they have done the exact opposite. As State Representative, I will fight to abolish the outdated End-of-course tests in English language arts I and II, algebra I, geometry (or integrated mathematics I and II), biology or physical science (class of 2018 only), American history and American government and replace it all with absolutely nothing. The role of a teacher is to prepare our kids for the future, and how can our educators do that if educators are forced to squeeze an entire months worth of state tests? The educator and not the government should decide the curriculum. I will propose a plan to legalize school choice to A., give the less fortunate a chance to attend better schools and B., give "bad schools" the incentive to improve. I will do everything I can to end bullying including not just holding bullies accountable for their actions, but holding public school districts responsible for neglect and disregard towards their students who suffer from bullying and mental illness. I will abolish school truancy laws, and my reasoning for this is that it is of no business of the government whether or not your kid goes to school, that is the business of the parent. There are far too many children who have unfortunate circumstances and students that suffer from mental illness, and I am sick and tired of watching children that are suffering the most have another burden thrown at them from the government or have a fine thrown at their parents who in many cases are already struggling financially. In some cases, the child has to deal with the threat of being put in jail via order of the judge, and a child who is trying to escape bullying or a severe mental health disorder should never be placed behind cold bars.
