McCoy highlighted the following issues on his campaign website:

Looking Forward, Together

Ryan well understands the challenges facing the District in the coming years, especially expected funding reductions. If elected to a second term, Ryan will continue work collaboratively with teachers, staff, administrators, and the Board to promote opportunities important to educational and career success.

  • Reduce class size, promoting greater one-on-one attention from our teachers.
  • Increase the number of pre-kindergarten programs.
  • Expand concurrent community college enrollment options for our high school students and improve their path for success in college and careers.
  • Expand technical education and vocational programs offered in both in middle and high schools.
  • To help recruit and retain high quality teachers and staff.
  • Continue to promote parent involvement and expand our parent academy, which helps parents guide their child’s education, communicate with teachers, and access resources.
  • Increase community and private sector partnerships that offer internships and other avenues for students to 'learn by doing.'
  • Ensure that taxpayer dollars are well spent.
  • Work with Colorado’s legislators to provide more funding for education.
