Ryan Parra

Ryan Parra is the District 4 representative on the Rio Rancho Public Schools Board of Education in New Mexico. He was first elected to the board in the general election on February 3, 2015.[1][2]
Biography
Parra is a full-time student studying political science at the University of New Mexico. He graduated from Rio Rancho High in 2008.[3] Parra is the co-founder of Rio Rancho Alliance, an advocate group based in Rio Rancho, New Mexico that focuses on economic opportunities. He has three younger siblings. Parra is the youngest person to ever serve on the board.[4]
Elections
2015
The election in Rio Rancho Public Schools featured two of the five board seats up for general election on February 3, 2015. District 2 incumbent Carl Harper originally filed to run for re-election but withdrew before the deadline to do so on December 30, 2014, leaving challenger Ramon Montano to run unopposed and win the seat by default. District 4 incumbent Divyesh Patel did not file for re-election. The sole challenger for that seat, Ryan Parra, also ran unopposed and won his seat by default.

Funding
The New Mexico Secretary of State's Office requires school board candidates in districts with an enrollment of 12,000 students or more to file an annual report each year. Candidates running for a seat on this district's school board had to file that annual report by April 13, 2015.[5]
