Campaign themes

2014

Schohr's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[1]

Agriculture

  • Excerpt: "As your Assemblyman, I will fight to protect our farmers and ranchers by opposing unnecessary and costly regulations that serve no real purpose, other than to penalize hardworking families. Once elected, I will work on reducing these regulations that continue to stifle the Ag Industry, while demonstrating no proven benefits."

Water

  • Excerpt: "I think the State must stand up to Southern California and the interests of powerful developers, and demand that they solve their water problems before they siphon off more Northern California water while they continue paving over great farmland with more houses."

Taxes

  • Excerpt: "I oppose raising taxes, and I will work to reduce government spending, eliminate waste, and create funding priorities that will focus on responsible budgeting in Sacramento."

Fire Tax

  • Excerpt: "As your Assemblyman, I will work with the organizations and individuals that are fighting for the repeal of the fire fee. Rural Californians don’t deserve to be treated as the big cities’ whipping boy and I just won’t stand for it."

Local Control

  • Excerpt: "I want to see government moved closer to local governments. I would much rather have County Supervisors and City Councilmembers making decisions on the appropriate resource allocations for their community. That is because what works in San Francisco or Los Angeles probably does not work in Chico or Yuba City. That is why I will be working to protect the North State."
