Ryan Stang grew up in Hamburg, NY to a working-class family, where his parents taught him the value of hard work, community, and personal responsibility. Instead of leaving for opportunities elsewhere, he chose to stay in "The City of Good Neighbors" where he calls home. Stang hopes to instill in his daughter the same pride and sense of community that he was raised with.

Stang's sense of pride for his community is why he has devoted time to raising money and awareness for causes he believes in. Partnering with Buffalo Bills Hall of Famer Jim Kelly going on 10 years, he has raised over $253,000 to benefit children with disadvantaged and special needs in WNY. The event has transformed from a small volleyball tournament to a mammoth retreat, generating dedicated annual volunteers, donations from local businesses, and media coverage from across the region. Buffalo Spikes for Tykes proves that Ryan can encourage the community to fight and improve the lives of families in his backyard.

After graduating from Buffalo State with a B.A. in Communication, Ryan Stang became a successful Financial Professional with Mass Mutual for 9 years until deciding to step out and create his own business, "Stang Insurance Consulting". Financial stability is key to a family's future, which is why Ryan has devoted his professional time to helping people find security.

Ryan is an independent voice, running for Erie County Legislature to put his real-world experience to work serving his community. His experience managing finances, supporting local businesses, and leading the fight for children in our community is exactly what we need representing us in Erie County.
I grew up in Hamburg, NY and I have seen the very best of what my community has to offer. Still, seniors are struggling to pay property taxes and too many young families wonder how they can afford to buy their first home. Property taxes here are some of the highest in the nation, but rather than make real cuts to the tax levy, the County Executive Mark Poloncarz and the Democratic Majority in the County Legislature Voted "No." They are trying to trick taxpayers, cutting pennies off the tax-rate, while watching assessments skyrocket along with people's tax bill. There needs to be real transparency in County Government, and I am prepared to fight for people here
