As of 2016, SEIU 775 was the Washington and Montana chapter of the Service Employees International Union. The union represented 40,000 longterm care workers, who provided care services in-home, in nursing homes, and adult day health services. SEIU 775 was formed in 2002, after Washington's In-Home Care Services initiative was passed by voters in 2001. The initiative allowed the establishment of the union. The union advocated for wage increases, benefits, and policies that impact the home care workers industry.[1]
