What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

Quality, affordable education from pre-K through higher ed. Affordable health care, including Medicaid expansion Paid family medical leave

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Education: It is the key to success and to allowing young families to thrive in NH; it has been a major source of my own success and my family's experience, too. Health care: Health care should be a fundamental human right, not a luxury. Housing: Whether one is a senior citizen on a fixed, limited income paying property taxes or a New American finding an apartment for the first time, housing is essential to survival and to allowing New Hampshire residents to thrive. Supporting working families: New Hampshire needs to allow its people to thrive through workforce development, training, education, and paid family leave. Allowing everyone to thrive keeps our state a good place to live for all.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

- Hard work - Integrity - Listening to constituents - Cooperation - Caring

What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?

- Energy and hard work - Listening to all sides of an issue - Respect for all people - Experience with community service organizations, local employers, and state officials - Caring for all developed from facing challenges in my own life

What is something that has been a struggle in your life?

My experiences leaving Afghanistan when I was six years old, living in a refugee camp in Uzbekistan, and becoming a U.S. citizen have shown me the importance of working together, overcoming challenges, and serving the community.

Do you believe it’s beneficial to build relationships with other legislators? Please explain your answer.

Yes, I believe it's important to cooperate and work with other legislators. I have been building relationships with numerous local/city, state, and federal officials to allow such cooperation.

If you are not a current legislator, are there certain committees that you would want to be a part of?

- Education - Child and Family Law - Health, Human Services, and Elderly Affairs

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in New Hampshire

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
