Sallie Manzanet-Daniels is a judge for the 1st Department of the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division. She assumed office in 2009. Her current term ends on December 31, 2029.

Education

Manzanet-Daniels is a native of New York City. She received her B.A. in psychology from Marymount Manhattan College in 1985 and J.D. in 1988 from the Hofstra University School of Law.[1]

Career

Manzanet-Daniels began her legal career in 1988 as a criminal defense practitioner for the Legal Aid Society in the Bronx. She then worked for three years as a principal law clerk for 12th Judicial District Justices Frank Torres and Luis A. Gonzalez. She was elected to the New York City Civil Court, Bronx County, in November of 1999. Manzanet-Daniels was then elected to the New York Supreme Court 12th Judicial District in November of 2001 (effective January 2002). She served in this position until she was appointed to the appellate division in 2009.[1]
