Salvatore LaMattina was a member of the Boston City Council in Massachusetts, representing District 1. He was elected to the council in 2006. LaMattina did not run for re-election in 2017.[1]

LaMattina is from Boston, Mass., and attended East Boston High School. He received a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1984. He was the director of operations of the Boston Transportation Department from 1999 to 2006. His other professional experience includes working as an assistant director at the City of Boston Central Artery Team and as neighborhood liaison to the North End and East Boston for the Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Services. He worked at the Crossroads Family Shelter for two years after graduating college.[1]

The city of Boston, Massachusetts, held elections for city council on November 3, 2015. A primary election took place on September 8, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was May 19, 2015. All 13 city council seats were up for election. In District 1, incumbent Salvatore LaMattina ran unopposed.[2]
