Sam Cappas
Sam Cappas is a judge for the superior court of Lake County, Indiana. He was first appointed by Governor Mike Pence on October 3, 2013.[1]
Education
Cappas earned an undergraduate degree from Indiana University, going on to receive his J.D. from Valparaiso University.[1]
Career
Prior to his judicial appointment in 2013, Cappas was the sole proprietor of The Law Firm of Samuel L. Cappas, where he specialized in criminal defense. He was previously a partner at the law firm of Cappas & Jones and spent nearly 20 years as a Lake County public defender.[1]
From 1992 to 1993, Cappas served as permanent judge pro tempore of the Lake County Superior Court. He also worked as the county's deputy prosecuting attorney for several years.[1]
