Sam Cassidy
Sam Cassidy was a judge of the Archuleta County Court in Colorado.[1] He was appointed by Governor John Hickenlooper in August 2014 and joined the court on January 13, 2015. He filled the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge James Denvir.[2] Cassidy retired from the court in 2016.[3]
Education
Cassidy received a bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1972 and a J.D. from the University of Tulsa in 1975.[2]
Career
Cassidy was a professor at the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business from 2000 until joining the court in 2015. Prior to that, he was the president and CEO of both the Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry and the Jefferson County Economic Development Association. He was also the chairman of the Economic Development Council of Colorado. Cassidy was the Lieutenant Governor of Colorado from 1994 to 1995, was the minority leader of the Colorado State Senate from 1992 to 1994 and a state senator representing District 6 from 1991 to 1994.[2]
