Sam Griffith was a judge on the Texas Twelfth District Court of Appeals. He was elected to this position on November 7, 2000, and took office on January 1, 2001.[1][2] He was re-elected on November 6, 2012.[3][4] Griffith retired in 2015.[5]

Education

Justice Griffith received his undergraduate and master's degrees from Stephen F. Austin State University and his J.D. degree from St. Mary's School of Law.[2]

Career

Justice Griffith began his legal career as a briefing attorney for Paul S. Colley of the Twelfth District Court of Appeals. He then worked as a private practice lawyer in Tyler, Tex., until August of 1997, when he was appointed to the County Court at Law No. 3 for Smith County. He then worked as a partner of the firm Holcomb, Morrison & Griffith from 1999 until he was elected to the Court of Appeals in 2000.[2]

Elections

2012

Griffith ran unopposed for re-election in the general election on November 6, 2012, and was re-elected to the Twelfth Court of Appeals with 100 percent of the vote.[6][7][4]
