I am a limited government conservative Republican. I have lived in Reno for nearly 30 years. I am the former Chairman of the Washoe County Republican party. I have written over 100 columns for the Reno Gazette Journal as a guest columnist. I have been on TV as a guest commentator for many years. Please visit my website to read all my columns and clips of my past TV appearances.
  • We need a free market system in education where the funding travels with the child. Schools need to focus on Reading, wRiting and aRithmetic, not politics and sex education
  • We need better ballot integrity. Proof of citizenship and valid picture ID should be presented to vote. Mail ballot on request only, with real signature verification. End ballot harvesting.
  • Immigration should be legal, limited and merit based. No welfare, stimulus or other types of payments to illegal aliens.
Efficiency in government. As someone who has worked in the private sector all my life, I want government to produce results. Government should live within its means. Politicians should treat taxpayer funds as they treat their own.
I look up to a several folks. Margaret Thatcher, Ronald Reagan are a couple of good examples.
Sadly, the first historical event of my adult life is 9/11. "We will never forget"
Engineer. I had it for five years during which time I secured two US patents. I moved into management after that.
Cordial but business oriented. Much like Tip O'Neill and Ronald Reagan
Not necessarily. We need to have a mix of legislators from all walks of life.
Absolutely. We don't have to necessarily agree with each other, but it is important to understand the perspectives of the other person.
A fair and collaborative process that ensures the composition of the population is approximately reflected in the composition of the legislature
A lady who homeschooled her child until 3rd grade sent her child to public school. After three years, the child tested at a lower level than when she started. Unbelievable!
Absolutely. The Executive should have the ability to react quickly, but the legislature has to ratify such powers and do so on a periodic basis. Periodic meaning weeks, not months and certainly not years.
Within reason, yes. I will not compromise on my core principles. That said, I will always be on the lookout for opportunities to advance conservative principles in the long run.
