Sam Newby
Sam Newby (Republican Party) was a member of the Jacksonville City Council in Florida, representing At-large Position 5. Newby assumed office in 2015. Newby left office on June 30, 2023.
Newby (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the Jacksonville City Council to represent At-large Position 5 in Florida. Newby won in the general election on March 19, 2019.

The city of Jacksonville, Florida, held elections for mayor and city council on May 19, 2015. A primary took place on March 24, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was January 16, 2015. All 19 city council seats were up for election.[1]
In the primary election for the at-large group 5 seat, Sam Newby (R) and Ju'Coby Pittman (D) advanced past Michelle Tappouni (R). Newby and Pittman faced off in the general election on May 19, 2015. Newby was the winner.[2] Incumbent Robin Lumb (R) did not run for reelection.[3]
